SDRF TEAM DURING SEARCH OPERATION |
Rishikesh, known as the "Yoga Capital of the World," is a serene destination nestled in the foothills of the Himalayas along the banks of the sacred River Ganges. Unfortunately, this beautiful location has recently been the site of a tragic incident involving a group of five individuals from Delhi. During their visit, two members of the group drowned, prompting a search operation by the State Disaster Response Force (SDRF).
The Incident
The group of friends from Delhi traveled to Rishikesh seeking adventure and spiritual rejuvenation. While enjoying the natural beauty of the Ganges, they decided to take a dip in the river. Despite being a popular activity, the currents of the Ganges can be unpredictable and treacherous. Tragically, two of the individuals lost their lives in the water, and their bodies have yet to be recovered.
SDRF's Search Operation
Following the incident, the State Disaster Response Force swiftly mobilized to conduct a search operation. The team, equipped with specialized gear and expertise, has been scouring the river and its banks. The challenging conditions, including swift currents and varying depths, have made the search arduous. Local authorities have also urged caution to other visitors, reminding them of the river's power and the importance of safety while enjoying water activities
Community Support and Remembrance
As the SDRF continues its search efforts, the community in Rishikesh and beyond is coming together to support the families affected by this tragedy. Local residents and visitors alike are expressing their condolences and offering prayers for the missing individuals.
